Replace preventively, but in any case, if one of the braided wires breaks, the rest will quickly follow, resulting in the mast going overboard.
Ensure there are no twists in the wire when rigging; this prevents twisting and premature wire breakage.
Because the Dart 18 mast is free-standing while sailing, there is a lot of movement on the shroud, and thus on the bridles. Therefore, it is recommended to tape loose rings (from the shackles WS02051) on the bridle plate. Vulcanizing tape (T2019Z) is often used for this, as it stays in place for a long time and can be easily removed without leaving adhesive residue.
