The mast base is supplied including the stainless steel mast base plate, where the mast rotates on the mast ball. Simultaneous replacement of the mast ball and mast base promotes the lifespan of both because they wear evenly.
The mast base is supplied without drill holes. Drill holes can be easily placed in the exact right position by clamping the mast base in place on the mast, drilling through the existing holes in the mast, and securing the rivets in a cross pattern.
Use extra-hardened Monel rivets 4.8mmx16mm (see accessories below) to absorb all the forces acting on the mast. Rivets are not included by default.
