Easy rigging and de-rigging of the mast
Use the appropriate shackles with extra securing option in the pin
The detachable stay block slides through a rail at the front at the top of the mast. This, along with the beam construction, makes the Dart 18 so easy to rig and de-rig. After lowering the mast, slide the stay block out of the rail, and the rigging is detached from the mast. Both the mast and the rigging can be stowed away. This allows the Dart 18 to be rigged and de-rigged quickly and without the need for tools.
The stay block has a stop point for the forestay with shackle A-621106. The side stays and trapeze wires are attached to the block with shackle A-621108. Both of these shackles have a hole in the pin for additional securing against rattling loose. They also fit through the openings (finished with stainless steel insert rings) in the block.
