What is the difference between the Classic and the 2.0 line?
JSAIL CLASSIC LINE
The JSAIL Classic Line came into existence alongside the company's expansion. Subsequent sail models were developed in response to the evolving needs of competitors. The initial model, crafted over two decades ago, has sustained popularity among sailors globally. Notably, Classic Line sails are characterized by a cross seam below the lower batten, and each model is distinguished by colored dots. The Classic Line Jsails can be sewn from either plain or square cloth. When the Jsail 2.0 Line was designed, the corners were rebuilt. Sail tests indicated a more favorable tension distribution, leading to a redesign of the overall shape and inner layers of specific corners.
JSAIL 2.0 LINE
A keen observation of top opti sailors revealed a shift in sailing style. To keep up with the newest trend, a series of 2.0 sails was introduced, drawing inspiration from the esteemed Classic sail models. Efforts were made to retain the known depth of previous models, focusing on maximizing depth that primarily moved towards the luff. Simultaneously, a significant uplift was incorporated into the leech section of the sail. The objective was to prevent leech closure. The new 2.0 models—Green 2.0, Blue 2.0, Red 2.0, and Black 2.0—can be identified by not having oblique seam underneath the lower batten and modified corners. Additionally, these models are marked with color diamonds, contrasting with the dots associated with the Classic Line. Noteworthy is the continued availability of the Classic line, ensuring that the new 2.0 Line runs parallel, providing options for diverse preferences.
